ZIBF breaks attendance record
ZIBF has finally done it! We have beaten our own record. By the close of business on Friday 9 July 2004, 383 stands had been taken up out of a possible 400. This means our 1999 record had been beaten by a margin of eight stands. ZIBF anticipates that by the time we get to the actual Book Fair, this figure will have gone up significantly.
Last year only 185 stands were taken up owing to the unfriendly economic climate. This is, however, not to say the situation has changed much this year, instead ZIBF attributes this success to the massive and intense local, regional and international marketing strategy employed in the past year to date.
ZIBF has made its presence felt and known in various literary and book industry platforms across the continent and also in the international community. We have also kept our partners and stakeholders abreast of all our activities and aspirations, hence the overwhelming support this year.
The fair runs from July 31 to August 7 in Harare.
